Feminine Appeal

I am reading through "Feminine Appeal" by Carolyn Mahaney right now and am loving it. It is a convicting, heart stirring, and challenging book. I consider it my "mentor" right now. I miss having an older, wiser, more spiritually mature woman to be able to talk to in person. There were some ladies at church back in NC that I really looked up to and knew I could talk to about anything. I do miss that, but this book has been great for me to read. And what an encouragement it has been. I wanted to share a quote from Charles Spurgeon. I had read it a couple of weeks ago in the book and thought it was so great, I went back and read it again today because it's just that good (and convicting.) Carolyn had been talking about how we need to have an attitude of humility and mercy towards our husbands and referenced this quote. Of course, it can be applied to any of our relationships. Maybe I'll share more quotes from the book with you as I get further into the book. Or you can read the book for yourself. :)

"He who grows in grace remembers that he is but dust, and he therefore does not expect his fellow Christians to be anything more. He overlooks ten thousand of their faults, because he knows his God overlooks twenty thousand in his own case. He does not expect perfection in the creature, and, therefore, he is not disappointed when he does not find it."
-Charles Spurgeon
