As most know, this past Saturday was Valentine's Day. We really didn't have any special plans. Kyle went golfing in the morning while I went to a flea market with a friend. Then later in the day, we went and ran errands. Well, when Kyle came home from golfing, he walked into the house with a huge pot of beautiful orchids! It was a very nice surprise. :)
Along with painting, this past weekend we went and looked for carpet. All the floors are cement in our house. We will eventually get some carpet for the bedrooms as well, but we started out with the living room first. They actually just delivered the carpet! Here it is still rolled up and in the plastic. So I'm not sure you can really get a good idea of what it looks like. It's just carpet, nothing too special.
This is our living room looking in from the front door. This is where we will eventually be putting the lovely new carpet. Not right now, though... Kyle's watching a movie. :) Also, notice the government issued furniture in all the pictures.
Here's a little project I did this this past weekend as well. I am going to paint some pictures for our dining room and thought I would practice a little. I will say, the one I painted this past weekend was used with a stencil. It was hard for me... I think it will be easier to paint free-hand. The ones for the dining room are going to be bigger and have a black background with one bright Gerber daisy on each of them. Hopefully, they'll turn out okay. We'll see! I went ahead and hung the little painting I did this past weekend above the stove. It was still a little wet when I hung it up. Guess what the "M" is for. ;)
Anyways, Kyle has been off since Friday and has to go back to work tomorrow. It's been a nice little vacation for him. Oh, we got an e-mail today saying our shipment is here! We are going in tomorrow to set up a delivery date since they were closed today. I am so happy it's here! It will be nice to have all of our belongings and get everything organized.
P.S. We should have our phone up and running by next week! .....Lord-willing.
