Cape Hedo

Yesterday, Kyle and I decided to take a drive around the Island. We decided to head north. We ended up going to Cape Hedo, the northern most point of the Island. So, we stopped and looked around and took some pictures. It was an absolutely beautiful day and the scenery was just gorgeous. Our way back was great because we drove along the coast almost the entire way, so we had the beach on our right side and also got to view a beautiful sunset. I don't have any pictures of the sunset, but I do have some of when we stopped at Cape Hedo.

Right behind us was about a 100 foot drop into the ocean. It was pretty scary, but fun.

I thought this sign was neat. It said "May Peace Prevail On Earth" in three other languages on each of the sides. Spanish, Japanese, and French.

The water was so pretty. In the first picture you can see the coral pretty clearly. If you look even harder you can spot a bright blue fish sort of on the right side. It was pretty awesome. There were also bright yellow and green fish swimming around. Made me want to go snorkeling. Hopefully we will get a chance to! These pictures were also taken on the edge of the cliff about 100 feet high.

So Joy, are there sharks there. The water is the most amazing blue!

I love your car by the way. What kind of gas mileage does it get, and speaking of gas, how much does it cost per ?

We love and miss you both.

Hey Keri, Kyle and the corporal he is taking over for are doing a "turnover" right now. The corporal he is taking over is in the process of checking out. So, within the next couple of weeks it will all be Kyle. The guy is actually going to LeJeune... pretty funny.

Cheryl, you will absolutely love the water and beaches. They aren't as rough as NC was. I mean in some areas it is, and there are some places with huge waves where people surf. But I don't know where that is. Definitely a lot more clean and pretty then NC. However, the beach you guys stayed on had a lot of military practices going on there, so all their vehicles they had out in the ocean made the water kind of yucky. As far as sharks, I haven't heard too much about them. I think the deeper you get, the more likely you'll run into one? However, I have heard jellyfish can be a problem!

The little yellow car gets pretty decent gas mileage. On base it costs about $1.76 per gallon! So, it's really good. It takes about $14 to fill it up! Off base though, is very expensive. And I think they measure by liters.

We love and miss you guys, too!

Joy!!!! I'm sooooo excited for you guys!!! I LOVE the pics of everything...It helps me picture where you are and what you get to enjoy!

LOVES the beaches and water views! Absolutely gorgeous!

Your car is very cute and looks like it'd be fun to zip around in....and blessings on the gas prices! :)

Your dish-rags and potholders look great! When you get back we'll have to share patterns if you get into the crochet/knitting thing! :)

Life here's good! Jamin and I just got a "free" 3 day-2 night including airfare to Puerto Viarta. We still have to figure out when to go, but I'm excited! I LOVE cool free stuff. :) Everything else is pretty much the same. School's good. Economy's bad...so many of my students are moving. I'm down to 16 students now...started with 23. Most are moving in with family, moving to wherever the new job is, or the one that left today is moving back to Mexico. :( I miss my little buggers.

Do you two have fun Valentine's Day plans? I don't think we do yet. I'll come up with something though.

Talk soon,
em
