Kyle left this morning for Jungle Warfare training. So, for the week, I am "Kyle-less." We are both happy he got the opportunity to go stomping around the jungle. I am kind of sad he won't be around the house, but I think this week will be good for both him and me. He gets to experience some pretty intense training as well as practice his leadership skills. And I get to learn to be on my "own" for a little bit. In case you want to learn more about what they do at training, here's a link for more information on JWTC. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Camp_Gonsalves. I even read other articles online about the training center and they had some crazy stories about snakes and mud and hiking through thick jungles. Let's just say, it's not something I would do for "fun." Even though the class is not required, Kyle did sign up because he thought it would be "fun" to do. He said it's one of those things you gotta do when you come to Okinawa. You can't come here and NOT do the training, because, well, that's lame (or something along those lines.) Kudos to him. But, that's Kyle for ya. :)
Onto other news... thankfully, we got our shipment this past Friday. Everything was in good condition except a couple of our picture frames were broken. I was not too happy about it. But, really, it's no biggie. So, I have plenty of un-packing to keep me busy this week.
I want to share with you that God has been so good to Kyle and me. We did our taxes about a week and half ago and already got our return which was a blessing! So if the $300 car doesn't work out, we will have a little extra cash to work with in paying for our second car. Because of course, we would like to pay with cash. We also sent in a check to finish paying off my college debt. We are now officially debt free! The military really has taken good care of us. Ultimately, God has has been the One to take care of us. Then I think about it. It is so easy to thank the Lord and be grateful when things are going well. But how will I react when times get a little bumpy? Will I be appreciative and thankful during times when money may be tight? I would like to think that I wouldn't worry because God has taken care of us so far and He will continue to provide. We serve an amazing God and I realize I don't love Him enough. I am so undeserving, yet He blesses so much.
