The next few pictures are not from VBS, but were taken last month on an outing with some girls from church. We explored down south. It was a really fun time! Yay for new friends!
We stopped off at a cute little cafe right on the water. It was beautiful!!
View from the inside of the cafe...
Here we are at lunch. It was a nice restaurant literally in the middle of nowhere, but it was beautiful...
Here are some pictures of the food we ordered. Usually your food comes in these sets, so there is always plenty to eat and you leave satisfied! So yummy......
This set consisted of soba soup, fried rice, tofu, (I can't remember what the bowl in the far right corner had in it) and for dessert: mochi (sweet Japanese rice cake where the rice was pounded into a sticky paste substance.)
This was my plate... ginger pork with salad, miso soup, rice, tofu and mochi.

Vacation Bible School Pictures
I was able to help out with the 3-5 year olds. They were so sweet! There was a Hawaiian theme, hence the Hawaiian shirts and leis.

I just can't over how beautiful it is there!
Hi Joy,
I've been stalking your blogs here lately, but have been either too busy or too tired to leave a comment. :) School has started and Cheryl and I are at the gym every weekday by 6 am....so I'm leaving the house at 5:30....Remember I'm not a morning person, so this is one major accomplishment! :)
I've enjoyed reading your posts and hearing about the accomplishments, new friends, adventures, struggle with direction, etc. :)
Thanks for posting! It really helps us feel connected with you guys while you're so far away! :)
I'm glad that you have been able to work with the kids ministry at your church! I'm sure they value your help as well!
Say hi to Kyle for me and Jamin! ...Jamin just got a client with Edmonds Community College. Hopefully they'll be repeat customers! :)
I'm off to bed...will try to write more personal letter to you guys later!
<3 ya,
em
