HOME, SWEET HOME!

Well, it's been just short of a month since the last time I wrote. Plenty has happened in the past couple of weeks. Most everyone knows I went back to NC to be in a wedding, and then visited with my family (in NC) and extended family (in WA.) It has been a busy month, but well worth all of the traveling. I will say that I DO NOT want to be on a plane anytime soon! I have literally travelled thousands and thousands of miles. Whew! But, the wedding was beautiful and seeing everyone was a blast.

As much as I thoroughly enjoyed seeing friends and family, all I wanted to do was come back home and be with my husband. Most have heard the saying, "Distance makes the heart grow fonder." Well, this proved to be true in the weeks I was apart from Kyle! I got home last night and it felt wonderful being in his arms again. Call me a sap, or maybe you think I'm just acting like I'm still in the "newly-wed stage," but honestly, I think it's because I love my husband so much and realized just how much God has blessed me! It feels good to be HOME.

Like I said, I flew in last night. The trip was long and the plane was full. I did get to sleep some on the plane, but it was not a very restful sleep. I woke up when Kyle left for work this morning and have been going since then. I don't feel extremely tired, though a nap does sound good right about now. I have a feeling later on this evening that it is going to hit me how tired I am.

So aside from being tired, I feel pretty good. I have a few projects I am excited about getting started on. Everyone back home inspired me to grow some vegetables. There's nothing like going in your own garden and picking fresh veggies to eat for dinner! Mmmm! So good. I am excited about getting started on that. I also have some weeding to do in my flower beds. You won't believe how much everything has grown. I guess I owe it to the rain they have been having here. Thankfully, I missed most of the rainy season.

There are pictures to come of the wedding and my trip. I also told family members that I would post pictures of my lush flower bed and revived banana tree, and my attempt of starting a patio vegetable garden- so you can see if I fail or succeed. Haha. Hopefully, I can get something to grow! Oh, and did I mention I got a new piano?! I'll be sure to post pictures of the new beauty as well. A couple of weeks ago, Kyle and I found a rinky-dink Japanese thrift store and saw a pretty decent, black, shiny upright piano. We thought it was a good deal and considered buying it. I had kind of thought it would be neat to buy it, but nothing really came of it. Unbeknownst to me, my sweet husband surprised me and had the piano sitting in the spare room when I got home! It was a wonderful surprise and I've already tested it out. We are getting it tuned on Tuesday, but I have been inspired to work on my piano playing skills. So, I am hoping to broaden my talent while I'm here in Okinawa.

Anyways, I would just show you the pictures now, but they are still on my camera. And that requires work to get it from the camera onto the computer. And that nap I mentioned earlier is calling my name. :) So, stay tuned for photos!
