A Few Snapshots from May/June

Here are a few pictures from Kyle's Martial Arts Instructor Course Training graduation. He is now a green belt and can teach martial arts to Marines that are lower belts than him. He could probably kill you with one move- juuuuuust kidding. Or am I?!  Although, once he gets to black belt I wouldn't want to mess with him.  ;) But who knows when that may be. Anyways, this course was pretty intense. Constant physical training mixed with classroom work. The students even got OC sprayed (pepper sprayed) in the face and had to accomplish different tasks after being sprayed. I saw videos... it did NOT look fun. Kyle said it's something he would NEVER want to do again.

Kyle and I went on a Battlesites Tour with his shop. It was pretty interesting! We went to a few places around the Island that were key spots during the Battle of Okinawa at the end of WW2. It was actually quite sad to hear and read about all that happened during the war. So much history is packed into this tiny island! Here we are with guns that were used in the war... we look pretty scary, eh??

This last picture was taken at Peace Memorial Park. At this park there were lines of stones engraved with the names of all (Japanese and American) soldiers that died during the war. It's located in a beautiful spot on some cliffs overlooking the ocean.
