Tis the season...

A few weeks ago we noticed that a Japanese house right outside of our housing gate decided to put up their Christmas lights. We always drove by it and wondered if we were allowed to walk around and check out the lights. So the other night, Kyle and I decided to take a stroll down to the lit up house. It's owned by an older Japanese couple and apparently they open it up to the public every year. I know it's a pretty common thing in the states, but it's cool to see it here in Oki. Christmas is a huge deal here. Of course, they probably don't understand the true meaning of Christmas, but they definitely go all out with decorating. Supposedly, their Christmas is celebrated similar to our Valentine's Day. It's a time to spend with your special someone. It was fun checking out the place. Let's just say I wouldn't want their electric bill! Here's a couple of pictures...
