Random Babblings

Well, we are still staying in the hotel. BUT, we move into our house on Friday! I am very excited. It's nice because the government is issuing most of our furniture. I have already seen some of the government furniture, and it is actually pretty decent. They are going to move it into the house before we get there. Things are going rather well in the "moving-into-new-house" department.

As far as the "getting-a-new-car" department, we bought a car on Tuesday! It's an adorable little used car made by Nissan called a March. The best part- it's YELLOW! As most know, I love bright colors, and yellow just happens to be one of my favorites. It is going to be my car, but until we find Kyle a car, he gets to drive it around. He looks pretty manly in it- hee hee. It's pretty awesome because we went to a car dealership off base and told the sales man we want something small and cheap. The Nissan March was the first car he showed us. The price was a little more than we wanted to pay, so we talked him down some. We think we ended up with a pretty good deal. It also feels good because we paid in cash the full amount he was asking! We have been driving around getting familiar with the area these past couple of days. It has been fun and interesting. True story- I went to go get Kyle from work yesterday (yep-he started back up,) and on our way back to the hotel, I accidentally drove on the wrong side of the road! (Remember, we drive on the left side of the road here.) I was turning onto this tiny little Japanese side road with on-coming traffic. So, as you can imagine, it was pretty scary. Kyle was like, "What are you doing?! You're driving on the wrong side of the road!!... You just drove on the wrong side of the road!! AGHH! You just drove on the wrong side of the road!!!!" Haha... yes, it went exactly like that. My reply- "Sheesh, sorry! I drove on the wrong side of the road- it's gonna happen occasionally." Please pray for Kyle, he has to put up with a lot. ;)

As I mentioned, Kyle is now in the department of "back-to-work." He's basically done with checking in, but still has some left to do. I think he is pretty excited about his new work environment and the new challenges he is going to face. It's even better, because it looks like he is going into the new shop as a Corporal. YAY!

Things are also going well in the "world-of-Joy." I have been doing some exploring, getting to know my way around the camps and a little off base as well. Yesterday, Kyle and I got lunch together and then went to the thrift store. It's awesome because we get 40 dollars a month that we can spend at the thrift store. Basically-it's free money to spend as long as Kyle is an E-4 or below. You know I am all over that! Thing is, if you don't spend the money for that month, it doesn't roll over into the next month or anything. So, I have till the end of January to finish up $30 (we used $10 yesterday.) I also went into the arts and crafts store yesterday- it's really neat. Lots of fun stuff to get into. I am waiting on finding a job until we get settled into our house. I have already been searching online for jobs. They post new jobs often. I am praying I can get a job on Camp Courtney since that is the closest camp to our house. It's also the camp Kyle works on, so it would be really convenient.

Anyways, I have e-mailed a lot of you our new address, but if I did not e-mail you and you would like it, please let me know! We do have a cell phone, but it is only for local use. Once we get a home phone, I will update you with that.

Joy,
It's so good to hear that things are going so well. I nearly died when I read about you driving on the wrong side of the road. I would have done the same thing. I can just imagine Kyle acting like you said. I will definitely pray for your safety!
That is exciting about Kyle making corporal. He has waited for a while to land that position.
Congratulations on getting a car. It is awesome that you could pay cash for it. Way to manage your money.
Keep in touch.
We love you both.
